Post Equipment needed to make Cappuccino flight ready
What equipment would I need to make the Cappuccino ready to fly?
I am very interested in building the vehicle myself and contributing to the development of the software, however, I do not have a radio, receiver, or 'brain'.

From the Joby Robotics site it looks like all of the 'brains' are out of stock. Any idea when I would be able to order one?

Awesome looking project - Hope to have one soon! :)

Hi Bob, to complete the Cappuccino, you will need:

- a 6-channel or greater 2.4GHz Spektrum-compatible radio and 1 or 2 satellite receivers (we recommend using two). We are still finalizing our choice for the radio we will include with the Mocha, but once we do we are planning to sell them directly from our site as well.
- a Lisa/L, Lisa/M, or Lia (Joby Robotics will be getting more Lisa/Ms by the end of this month, and we will also be selling standalone Lia boards directly
- a soldering iron if you are using a Lia (thru-hole wiring)
- either pre-crimped Molex picoblade wires or a crimping tool, and male connector housings if you are using a Lisa/M or Lisa/L
- a 2000 or 2200 mAh 3-cell lipo battery
- glue for assembly: epoxy, CA, and/or our favorite glue for EPP, 3M 4693H plastic adhesive (available from 3M's online store)
- a computer and micro-USB cable to upload software to Lia or Lisa/M (Lisa/L uses mini-USB and wifi).

Uploading software released by us can be done from Mac OSX, Linux (we like Ubuntu and Debian), and Windows 7. To hack the software yourself requires installing the Paparazzi toolchain, which right now only supports Mac OS and Linux.

Cheers,
//Jeff

Does the Lisa/M have the ability to be connected to a GPS?
I was looking at the uBlox LEA-5H GPS subsystem that is on the Tiny autopilot from aerofu.com
I am open to suggestions.

Thanks again!
Can't wait to start hacking.

Hi bobalexander,

Yes it is definitely possible to connect a UBlox GPS module to Lisa/M. Just connect it to UART1 and you should be set. Paparazzi supports the UBlox binary protocol so you can even communicate with it in an efficient manner.

Cheers Piotr
